Time to declutter.

Happy New Year 2025!

Welcome to my blog, this month I’m spotlighting an amazing founder and CEO of Lock and Key Home, Kim Jones. Her company focuses on creating an organized living space for families and taking the stress out of moving. I believe organization is an integral part of making your homes a place you love and enjoy to spend time in even after your interior design with me. I hope you find her journey and advice as interesting as I did!

What inspired your company?

“The idea of Lock and Key Home came to me when I was in the middle of moving and completely stressed out. We moved when my twins were 10 months old, my husband was traveling a lot for work, and I was working full-time in corporate.  After several weeks of swimming in boxes, I sent everyone away from the house and took the entire weekend to unpack and organize our new home. It was exhausting, but such a great feeling to have it all done and everything in a designated home. I realized I am likely not the only one that feels this way during a move, so I created Lock and Key Home.”

What services do you offer?

“We provide concierge, move management services, as well as home and commercial organization. For a move, we can do anything involved in a move that is stressing someone out, whether it be the logistics, research, packing, unpacking, etc. For home organization, our ultimate goal is to create systems in a home that are easy to maintain and fit the client’s lifestyle.”

How do you ensure your products/services align with current design trends?

“I recently became an ambassador at The Container Store, so I get to see the new products, trends as they are being rolled out. I am also always researching to find not only the best solutions, but one’s that are on trend.”

Can you share an organization tip that homeowners can implement immediately?

“Starting small and getting a quick win is my number one piece of advice. I always recommend starting with either a junk drawer or the refrigerator. These areas are more black and white (expired vs not expired) and less emotional than starting in other areas. All you need is 15 minutes to start and finish a small project, but you then have that space to come back to as motivation for when you start to tackle the larger spaces.”

Can you highlight for us specific products you love?

“My latest favorite product:

Bamboo Drawer Organizers | The Container Store

Bamboo is really on trend right now for organizing products. This product is awesome to divide items in large drawers that may usually go in cabinets, such as plates, etc

My go to product:

Plastic Storage Bins with Handles | The Container Store

Works in every space, quality product and is easy to use!”
